Condurro book

Condurro Campsite, Truro

Condurro is the main campsite for Girlguiding Cornwall, situated in the beautiful village of St Clement beside the Tresillian River. This book records the development of the campsite since its opening in 1938 to the present day.

The production of the book was made possible through a 'Young Roots' Heritage Lottery grant and involved members of Senior Sections guides and the Condurro Committee. The information was gathered by talking to former Guiders, Condurro neighbours, Girlguiding archives and Cornwall Studies Library.

As part of the learning process a visit to St Austell Printing Company was organised where some of the girls were able to learn more about the print process and watch pages roll off the press.

We are absolutely thrilled with the quality of the book produced for us by Hooper Graphics. Jane Hooper has been a fantastic support to the young people involved with the production, it has been a most enjoyable experience for all our members.
