Parson Willimott's Cornish Sketchbook

Parson Willimott's Cornish Sketchbook

The Parochial Church Council of St Michael Caerhays published the watercolour sketches of Parson Willimott to help raise income towards the restoration of its stained glass windows. All but one of the windows were designed, made and installed by the rector, William Willimott during his time in the parish and dedicated in 1861.

The sketches have been taken from a larger sketchbook that William Willimott compiled during the last two years of his life whilst living in Ipswich and was presented to the Parish by his family during the 1950s.

The design of the booklet has been inspired by printed material from this time in an attempt to reproduce the actual sketchbook. Each sketch is numbered, and includes anecdotes of his time as a parish priest at St Michael Caerhays.

Many thanks for a super job, as ever — the parish is delighted and so am I.
